Brendoncare

The Brendoncare Foundation is a registered charity operating a network of residential, nursing, respite and dementia care homes across the south. Their innovative approach means nobody has to leave their accommodation if their financial situation changes, and the charity does as much as possible to provide a range of care options for individuals and couples. For example, by providing two-bedroom apartments and independent accommodation with the reassurance of on-site carers.

With an ever-increasing older population, and a demand for organisations that provide high quality care combined with kindness and dignity, Brendoncare knew they needed to continue expanding.

Our ongoing relationship made Barclays a natural choice as they sourced funding for their new £14.4m Otterbourne Hill development. It’s set to open in summer 2018, and will include a specialist 64-bed nursing and dementia care home, 20 apartments designed to support couples facing dementia and a community hub.

We’re proud to be working alongside such a vital charity, and are committed to supporting their future growth, as well as their day-to-day banking.

Martin French, Managing Director, South West region

Martin French, Managing Director, South West region

Martin has 30 years banking experience with Barclays during which he has undertaken a variety of relationship and head office roles.

Currently Managing Director for Barclays Corporate in the South West, he has previously led the Large Corporate team for Barclays in the same area.

Martin has always had a keen interest in transactional financing and prior to joining the South West team, spent ten years in Debt Finance, initially leading transactions but latterly running a London based team responsible for both acquisition and general corporate purpose financing.
