Red Nose Day 2015. Comedian Joel Dommett encourages you to make your donations with Pingit.

Comic Relief

This year we’re proud to be an Official Partner of Red Nose Day. We’re making donating to Comic Relief simple with the Pingit app. Read below how Pingit is supporting this charity.

The Client

Comic Relief is a UK charity, which aims to create a just world, free from poverty. To date, Comic Relief has raised over £960 million. That money has helped, and is helping, people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world.

The Challenge

Barclays wanted to help Comic Relief increase the amount they earned from spontaneous donations, while also attracting donations from people using smartphones and tablets.

Barclays also wanted to help the charity extend its reach, and tap into a new, younger generation of donors, without incurring significant integration costs.

The Solution

The team at Barclays worked closely with Comic Relief and discussed how Pingit could offer a mobile payment service for the charity’s supporters. Pingit allows registered charities to receive quick, easy and secure donations from users on the go. Donors don’t have to bank with Barclays to use the app.

The campaign #giveabitmore was created to raise awareness that with the Pingit app, you can easily donate to Comic Relief and give a bit more by adding an extra 25% on top of your donation with Gift Aid without it costing you an extra penny.
