Asset Based Lending - South West

Lynn Metcalfe, ABL Originator for the South West:

Export is a prominent feature with businesses based in the South West, with exports increasing by 8.8% to £20.8 billion for the year ending March 2018 according to HMRC figures. The region outstripped the national average of 6.5% growth in exports of goods across England. The South West is now home to more than 8,400 exporters with an average value of £638,000 per exporter. UK companies are increasingly opting for structured cash flow lending to drive business growth as an alternative to traditional forms of bank loans and overdrafts.

Asset Based Lending is arguably much more than invoice finance as many assets can be monetized and provides a single source of finance against those asset classes. As the borrowing is directly collateralized from the assets, the borrower is typically able to raise working capital at a lower margin than through traditional bank facilities. We provide funding at pre-agreed advanced rates against assets within the borrowing base certificate. At Barclays we are committed to delivering the client the right solutions at the right time and in the right way.
