Brian Parsons – Head of Natural Resources, International Corporate Banking
Brian heads the Barclays team covering corporate banking relationships with the world’s largest companies in the Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining and Commodities sectors. Based in London, Brian has responsibility for ensuring coordination between our Natural Resources clients and the bank.
Brian’s focus is on managing the delivery of products and services from our global businesses; ranging from cash management and trade finance, to working capital lending, debt finance and liquidity structures across the bank’s multiple geographies, particularly Asia, the US and Europe. Additionally, close collaboration alongside Barclays’ Investment Banking Division allows for the delivery of additional broad and deep client focussed solutions.
Brian has over 20 years banking experience, initially spending several years advising clients on Interest Rate and FX Risk Management Solutions and has spent the last twelve years in Corporate Banking. Brian also spent several years in private industry working with a European manufacturing firm and has also run his own business for a time.
Brian joined the International Corporate Banking team at Barclays in 2011 initially covering the bank’s Swiss corporate client portfolio and subsequently has worked across Europe as well as leading on the Bank’s Commodity trading clients. Key to Brian’s role is to ensure a consistent approach to the Natural Resources sector globally.
Brian graduated from University College Dublin with a Degree of Bachelor of Commerce and holds an MBA from the University of Warwick.
