David Farrow

Head of Corporate Banking, Barclays

David is Head of Corporate Banking at Barclays which supports clients in the UK and around the world, from medium enterprises, large UK and global corporations to financial institutions. This support is delivered through a relationship banking model providing comprehensive banking, financing, trade and payment services, together with industry knowledge and expertise. David has teams supporting clients in the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia as well as in the UK and the Transaction Banking and Lending products businesses also come under his leadership. David sits on the Corporate and Investment Banking Management Team and reports to Paul Compton, Global Head of the Corporate and Investment Bank.

David joined Barclays in 1990 straight from school, starting his career in back office roles. His early career included roles in Retail, Business and Corporate Banking in London and across the South of England. Since then he has had senior leadership roles in the UK, and most recently as Head of the International Corporate Banking and Head of UK Client Coverage.

David served as a non-executive director on the Board of Barclays Europe and led Corporate Banking’s response to Brexit and platform expansion in Europe. David is passionate about improving diversity in the workplace and is the executive sponsor of Corporate Banking’s multicultural network. He was recognised in the 2020 and 2021 Empower list of top 20 Advocate role models, and the 2019 50 Leading Lights, Kindness and Leadership listing. He is also the executive sponsor of Corporate Banking’s Sustainability Forum.

Away from work, David is a trustee on a charitable foundation – the Green Light Trust - which combines conservation with educational and health projects.

David is married with two daughters and in his spare time he enjoys running and plays the drums in a local band.
